Feb. 16: "People of the Kingdom" by Pastor Steve Baden

Pastor Steve noted that God's kingdom is one of love, acceptance, and forgiveness, as is accounted in Matthew 11: 1-16, reporting Jesus' words of reply to the disciples sent by John the Baptist and the assembled crowd, asking whether Jesus was the Messiah as foretold by prophets. Pastor Steve explained that Jesus answer to the question posed by John the Baptist in this Bible passage promised a new kingdom coming where people are loved and accepted for, as written in Ephesians 2: 10 (NIV): "...we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Feb. 2: "Promises of Joy" by Pastor Steve Baden

Matthew 5: 1-12, the Beatitudes, was the focus for the February 2 sermon on how Christians may undertake that journey that our Savior put before us to become pure in heart and reflect the light of God. Pastor Steve noted that Jesus Christ was born and still lives among us so that all may be made new. Pastor's message of hope reiterated that Christ is the key to the kingdom of heaven and that members of DCCC should first seek the kingdom of God and supply the foundation upon which others may begin their search and open their hearts to Christ.
