January 26: "Narrow is the Gate" by Guest Speaker Carl Revels

Matthew 7: 14, 2 Corinthians 4: 18, and Hebrews 11: 6 were among the scriptures cited by Guest Speaker Carl Revels in his message titled "Narrow is the Gate." Carl noted that Jesus called himself both the gate and the gatekeeper so it is important for Christians to read the Bible, to study scripture, and to follow Jesus' teachings in order to remain on the narrow Godly path.

January 19: "Come and See" by Pastor Steve Baden

John 1: 29-42 and 1 Corinthians 1-9 were the focus of the January 19 sermon titled "Come and See." The first four disciples who followed Jesus were told, "Come...and you will see..." when asked where Jesus was abiding/living following his baptism. Pastor Steve noted that it is important to contemplate the question of what we are looking for in the New Year and to remember that "not one who came to Jesus was rejected."

January 12: "Baptism of the Lord" by Pastor Steve Baden

Ephesians 4:4-6 and Matthew 3: 13-17 were the focus for Pastor Steve's January 12 service titled "Baptism of the Lord." Matthew 3: 13--"Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, 'I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?'" Church attendees at this service were given the opportunity to participate in a renewal of their baptismal covenants with water from the Jordan River.

January 5 2020: "God As Our Guide" by Pastor Steve Baden

Matthew 2:1-12 and Isaiah 60: 1-6 were the focus of Pastor Steve's sermon titled "God As Our Guide." God led the Magi to the Christ Child with a star but He also used scripture. The Magi found the Christ Child because they followed the signs and heeded scripture. Pastor Steve noted that it is important to remember that we all (as Christians) are travelers slightly different paths in search of the same thing: our Savior. This sermon was abbreviated to allow time for Missionary Robin Harter to share her story the founding and ongoing work of signsoflove.org. See the page for Robin to hear the audio of her story.
